COURAGE • CONFIDENCE • CONVICTION
WHO CELEBRATE EACH OTHER
Our vision is to build self-esteem in all girls and empower them to pursue their goals boldly. BOLD focuses on girls entering 5th grade through 12th grade. We use research-based curriculum to educate and instill a strong sense of self in each girl. We teach girls to discover and cherish their own inner and outer beauty and to celebrate that in other girls. We know that when girls support girls, wonderful things happen.
BOLD's founder, Stacy Germundson, has been a school counselor for 18 years which is where the BOLD vision was born. Stacy consistently noticed that many young women are more concerned about being perfect and fitting in and less about bravely expressing their true selves. Because of this they often fail to recognize and promote their own true selves and don't seek to set high professional goals for their future. She believes that girls are more likely to pursue a greater purpose for themselves and their future when they have confidence and a strong sense of self. Stacy and her team are passionate about using their skills, experience, and connections to lead, inspire, and mentor young women.
"I am so excited and humbled for the opportunity to work with young women and help empower them to be their best selves. Girls Are Bold!" - Stacy, Founder of BOLD
ABOUT OUR CAMPS
Empowering girls to see their inner and outer beauty and to pursue their dreams boldly
At BOLD Girls Camp, it is all about empowering the girls to grow their "courage muscles," fight the pressure to seek perfection, and thrive!
BOLD Camp participants discover and affirm their inner and outer beauty and the unique gifts they already possess. Every girl is precious and important with infinite potential.
BOLD Campers explore their own personal leadership traits and learn from adult mentors the power of a woman with impeccable integrity.
BOLD creates an empowering environment with the intention that all girls feel affirmed and confident to celebrate themselves and others. Lifting other girls up with your words and actions is beautiful and inspiring and can cause a ripple effect of girls supporting girls.
Weekly activities will include:
Beach yoga & low ropes course
Nature mindfulness hikes
Self-esteem and empowerment exercises
Leadership & resilience-building activities
Kayaking and canoeing
Crafts and art
On the last night of camp all BOLD girls will have the opportunity to share one of their amazing strengths with the group. Some examples are girls may sing, play an instrument, read a poem or story, speak about their camp experience, or share a photo or memory of great importance to them. This is not meant to be stressful but an opportunity for them to share their boldness and be celebrated by their peers.
